Wizard Tower Intern

So I've decided to join a game jam after a friend of mine also did. It was a disaster. Well, what I mean is that the game isn't very good. I had fun though.

I specifically joined the 2 button Jam 2023. with my submission being Wizard Tower Intern. It is a game which's gameplay is very simple. You have items coming towards you on a conveyor belt, and you must sort them into one of two categories - food and laundry. You must also watch out for enemy skulls which fly at you. 1 button jumps, the other throws, simple as that.

The story is as follows: The wizards in the tower are having trouble, so they look for someone to do work for them. They hire a white cat person creature being (who is named Mitzi btw, it's never explicitly stated in the game but that's the name I've had for the character from the first moment) to work for them and help them sort them things out. Depeding on how well you do in the game, you either get paid $3.18 or get fired.

There's only one song in the game and it plays during the actual gameplay part. I tried to make something that'd fit, but I failed miserably. It doesn't fit whatsoever. It wasn't even the only song I tried to make. It's the only one I've finished, but I do like some of the others I didn't. I feel like I am going to have to make a crappy synthwave EP now. I might actually do that, because I've only recently realized that I really like making music, even if what I make are scrappy fl studio mobile songs made with very little direction or sense. By the way the only reason I have the mobile version of that software is because it's infinitely cheaper.

Anyhow, here are some sprites from it which I think are pretty neat and I actually like (and yes the ms paint aesthetic was intentional.)

fun fact: the text there is in elder futhark runes. The text (in the order top, right, down, left) reads: "wizard tower intern cat"
